- Anamudi (28 kms): The highest peak in South India.
- Kundale (28 kms): Asia's biggest golf club, The kundale dam and the numerous tea estates.
- Top station (32 kms): This is the highest point in Munnar - Kodaikanal Road. It also offers a panoramic view of neighboring Tamil Nadu.
- Eravikulam National Park (34 kms): Where the rolling grass lands and Shola forest shelter the Nilagiri Tahr, Samba, Bison, Nilagiri Langur and Leopards.
- Marayoor (40 kms): Where the relics of new stone age were unearthed.
- Chinnar Wild Life Sanctuary (60 kms): This sanctuary is fully inhabited by wild animals like elephants, leopards, bears, sambas, spotted dear, boars and several other species.
- The Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary (100 kms): One of the worlds most fascinating natural wild life sanctuaries. Thekkady is noted for its wild life and scenic beauty.

Alwaye has direct rail connection to Cochin which is well connected to
the rest of the country.
By Road: Munnar is well connected by road to Cochin, Kodaikanal,
