Mylanthra House (River side heritage home) is a 75 years old well maintained bungalow built of bricks, wooden ceilings and roofing and flooring with old clay tiles. We have a village atmosphere, though we are in Cochin City, with an area of 1 .25 acres of land with full of trees and calm atmosphere with good breeze from backwaters always, as our back side boundary is Vembanat Kayal (Backwaters). Guests can sit on the bank of the backwaters to enjoy the breeze and excellent green sites from the small islands in the backwaters which are having shrimp farms and paddy fields surrounded by evergreen man grows. We have our own Chinese fishing net which even our guests can operate to catch their fish requirements which will be cooked and served by Annie herself. We also have mechanized country boat for backwater boating on our call if our guests desired to visit the nearby islands and enjoy backwater boating (Rs.400 per hour).
House Boating at Alleppy backwaters can be arranged on advance requests from the guests (Day Cruise as well as Day and Night stay) as tariffs varies according to season and booking days in advance.
MYLANTHRA HOUSE is approved and licensed as GOLD grade by Tourism Department, Government of Kerala, for homestay for foreign nationals. |

| Residents are Mr. Basil Mylanthra aged 60 a retired senior marketing executive of an MNC and Annie Basil (56) house wife and an expert in Kerala style cooking both in veg and non-veg. Our guests as our own family members as we two only are staying in a big house and we enjoy the company of our guests and would like to understand variety of cultures in the world and different states in India through our guests, hence we offer an attractive tariff. We assure at most security, healthy environment in a calm and quiet atmosphere. |
