Vagamon
Wagamon is a hill top resort near Palai,in Idukki District,Kerala,India.the area is famous for its cool climate. Temperature between 10 and 23 degree Celsius. It is situated 1,100 metres above sea level. Kurisumala monastery is situated there. It is around 33 km from Palai.The area is full of Tea estates. Indo-Swiss Project dairy farms is situated in Kurisumala. Wagamon is surrounded by three hills namely, Thangal hill, Murugan hill and Kurisumala. Tea estates, grass lands, meadows, mist and shola forests add to the charm of Wagamon environment. Wagamon is at the fringe of the western ghats and the foot hills on its lower side reach up to Teekoy with a gradual descent. Travelling by the hill highway in this section is an exhilarating experience with deep valleys and magnificent views all around. Wagamon presents very spectacular views with an ethereal touch.

Travel to Vagamon if you enjoy trekking, paragliding, mountaineering, rock climbing and walking. Vagamon is a chain of three hills, viz., Thangal Hill, Murugan Hill and Kurisumala, makes Vagamon a place worth visiting.
The place is also famous for its unique rock formations at Thangal Para. You must visit the dairy farm in Kurisumala in Vagamon. The Live Stock Board is a famous breeding center of Kerala.
A small church over the top of the hill and the nearby Kurisumala Ashramam are must not be missed. Kurisumala Ashramam, in reality, is a monastery for Christian ascetics. They believe in the Christianity, Indian spiritual beliefs and the Gandhian philosophy.
The hill stations such as Thekkady, Kurisumala, Thangalpara, Muruganmala and Kulamavu are at convenient distance from Vagamon.

How to Reach
The nearest airport to Vagamon is at Kochi while the railway station is at Kottayam. It is easily accessible by road buses and private taxis from most of the cities of Kerala. Private taxis and auto rickshaws are available for local travel.
